Glasgow University Faculty of Education

Glasgow, Scotland

The University of Glasgow wished to relocate their St. Andrews Education Faculty to enable better use of the University facilities and to integrate fully on an educational, social, and access basis. Our design concept involved completely reversing the building and creating a 'battery pack' extension to the historic St. Andrews building, containing the main entrance, social areas, and vertical circulation.

The four key elements of the brief were to create a strong visual identity for the Faculty; to improve the quality of accommodation to current standards; to ensure full compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act and to rationalise circulation and internal navigation throughout.
