Hillhead Baptist Church

Glasgow, Scotland

Designed by iconic architect Thomas Lennox Watson, Hillhead Baptist Church was entirely vacated in 2016. We have been approached to work up proposals for a sensitive scheme that would historically protect the building and safeguard its future as a significant local community hub. An overarching conservation approach will be implemented, retaining the church's cultural significance and status as a heritage asset to Hillhead and wider Glasgow.

Working closely with the client body, we looked to relocate the church into a new purpose-built facility at ground, providing modern well-equipped space to meet their brief. The remaining building would be partially demolished and reinstated into 28 luxury apartments behind the existing stone walls.
