SWG3

Glasgow

SWG3 defies being categorised, it's a cultural polymath, a phenomenon that other arts organisations could learn from. With performance, live music, and theatre to visual arts events SWG3 has attracted industry accolades for its enterprise and spirit. In addition to events, the complex provides a mix of employment space supporting a daytime economy of artists and makers. Stallan-Brand are retained as an adviser to SWG3, helping develop an evolving site vision that includes for a new arts hotel, rooftop restaurant, new community garden and more.

SWG3 located next to Glasgow's great river the River Clyde, is helping activate this once busy industrial location, reimagining an important historical context. Previously the site was home to a diverse mix of uses including a brass foundry, weaving & finishing works and galvanisers.

Ongoing development is taking full advantage of a new community garden, a space, fully accessible to all in the community which includes play areas and growing space.

Streetscape improvements will help the venue engage more fully with people. Additionally a new rooftop restaurant is proposed that would have views across the city.

At the centre of SWG3 is the Yard space which is programmed throughout the year with different activities.
