Stallan-Brand has been working with North Ayrshire Council on a new strategic regeneration and development framework for the town of Ardrossan, a location that has in recent times suffered from a disproportionate decline in its industry and prospects.
Central to the proposal is a major new waterfront and harbour expansion around transformational public space. Anchoring the investment is the new Ardrossan Intergenerational Community Campus which we designed to connect with and reclaim a massive former oil refinery site that has blighted the town.
Working with the community and key stakeholders the practice developed an ambitious masterplan that addresses the failing town centre.

From a new swimming pool to links with local employers the project promises to improve people's quality of life and opportunity through a design and place-led approach.
