Our masterplan seeks to capture the unique spirit of Rio as a world city to create a unique Olympic Experience. Our proposal sought to promote the dynamic culture of Rio and reinforce its status as one of the most desirable destinations in the world. Our Rio 2016 Olympic Park masterplan is located in one of the four Olympic centres scheduled for development as part of the 2016 Games, and it concentrates the greatest number of buildings and installations. We designed this new location as the centre piece of the Games event to concentrate the main sporting events and offer large meeting spaces for the public, sponsors, and athletes. Our masterplan responds to the dynamic landscape backdrop of mountains, the lagoon, and its central position within the neighbourhood of Barra da Tijuca to deliver a masterplan that injects a new heart and cohesion to the surrounding neighbourhoods long after the spectacle of the Games is over.
